Michelle Siau, our TNRM subcommittee member was asked to help out for the recent west case and she is doing a great job. She managed to speak to the lady, identify the caregiver there, and the caregiver went on to contact the Town Council. Michelle did some fact-finding too and she found out the complainant was actually a RC member who didn’t want cats near her kids.

I hope this is not any RC abusing her position. I remember a case in Dawn’s blog about a RC member in Jurong taking advantage of his RC position to coerce the TC to get rid of the cats in a carpark where his car was parked!
Residents MUST NEVER be intimidated by RC members as they are there to SERVE all residents and NOT his or her own interest or fear or prejudice! They can be complaint against too!
Dun ever think that RC members are REALLY there serve the residents. I joined the comm to help my community cats and at teh end of the first meeting, the chairman and his exco members actually gossiped among themselves and asked why did one of the members had asked a cat lover to join the comm???
Excuse me, even RC pple are prejudiced and display discrimation.. anyway, they are humans after all ..
I met an ethical RC member once and he said he would whistle-blow on his fellow RC members who took advantage of the events they organise such as getting big discounts on the tour tickets. RC members also have the privilege of parking outside their designated car park but of course it must only be used for “official” business.

Hi Angela, thanks for sharing. I’m sure there are some RC members who might be abusing their positions but I am sure there are others they are not. I do know of some caregivers in RCs who are doing great because they have good RC teammates.
