Pasir Ris Abuse Cases Latest Update

Ivan:
A few Pasir Ris caregivers met up with Sandy of SOS Animals and myself to have a discussion about the progress of the Pasir Ris cat abuses. In that two hour, the team covered issues pertaining to media release of this case, how the killings got more elusive, patterns of crime activities and other logistics related issues.
Basically, the killings got more elusive because after the first two cases, carcasses of new cases that were sent to the SPCA for veterinary autopsy reveals very limited information about how the cats died. Thus, none of the new cases made it to the SPCA posters since SPCA cannot conclude that the cases were abuse related. There were also two cases where the cats were attacked by stray dogs. This is strange because stray dog attacks about this part of Pasir Ris is rare. What we are sure is that the stray dogs are attracted to the estates by food left indiscriminately by some community cat caregivers - it is always better to wait for the cat to finish the food and clear up or make a round trip back to clear up any food remains within the hour. This also minimise possible complains about littering or feeding by residents.
Tampines estate also saw some cats being killed but again there were inconclusive evidences of abuse. One Tampines cat of Sun Plaza is now missing, perhaps readers of this blog who are staying around this area can look out for this cat (Sunplaza cat missing since 30th May).
Meanwhile, SPCA suggested the caregivers groups to start patrolling if possible.
