“..once was lost..but now.. aaaaaaam found…” - CWS Lost and Found

Posted by catwelfaresg on July 20, 2008

Sarah:
Our hardworking volunteer Jodie has been manning the lost and found boards for the last year. However, due to work pressures (translation, she just got a job ;p ) she had to step down.

If you haven’t seen your lost and found post going up in the last week or so, it’s because she and the new volunteer have been working to transfer the database over. We hope to get it running by the end of this week.

So, er, try not to lose your cats for awhile. :) Ok, I’ll be serious. There are lots of things that you can do to find your cat. First.. Read the rest of this entry »

Subcomms update

Posted by catwelfaresg on June 3, 2008

Sarah:
We’ve been meeting with a couple of subcomms applicants, as well as approaching others. It’s been a bit by bit process - we’d've liked to meet everyone at one shot, but clearly that wasn’t going to happen. So we’ve met people whose schedule allowed for a coffee and a chat. We’re working our way down the list, so we’ll get to everyone. It’s not based on who we prefer, it’s really based on who was free that week.

21 May 2008 Sad-Busy Day

Posted by ivanong on May 22, 2008

Ivan:

A sad yet busy Wednesday. I got an sms from a good friend who is also doing cat rescues. Her cat was dying. This stray chinchilla persian cat was adopted out to my friend and her family by a caregiver and myself about 2 years ago after I found it dumped at my area’s carpark.

Kitty died of multiple organ failure and I am ‘glad’ to make it to my friend’s place to see kitty’s last moments. After some 50 minutes with kitty, she passed away at 1230pm sharp. My friend and I said prayers to kitty and then I left to give space to my friend and her family to grieve.

Update on the subcommittee thing

Posted by catwelfaresg on May 20, 2008

Sarah:
By the way, if you’re waiting to hear from us, I’m sorting out the list. We’ve had people write in every couple of days, so I’m consolidating a list first. Thanks for the patience!

Our new (and old) sterilising email address

Posted by catwelfaresg on May 12, 2008

Previously, the bulk of the sterilisations appointments came in through the 7000-CATSNIP number, which was dutifully manned by the wonderful Wiggie. Another volunteer took care of the Catsnip email, but she had to leave when work demands caught up with her. That’s when we stopped giving it out.

Now Wiggie has kindly agreed to man the email as well. So if you’re more comfortable with email, or have quite a few slots to book, send it in via email at catsnip @catwelfare.org

Remember to leave your contact number. The number should be one that can actually get you. Sometimes people write in to ask why we haven’t booked a slot for them. As it turns out, Wiggie was unable to contact them to confirm, because they forgot to leave a number, or left the wrong number. In one case, the caller left her home number. However, due to her work, she was out of the house from 9am till 10pm. Wiggie had no way of contacting her. We had to wait till she wrote in to ask what happened.
